Druid Software and SpiderCloud Wireless Collaborate to Bring Benefits of 3G/4G/Wi-Fi Mobility through Small Cell System and Software that Enable Mobile Devices to Integrate with Existing PBX and Business Systems

London, United Kingdom, October 2, 2013. Druid Software, the Irish mobile network software development company, today announced that it is collaborating with SpiderCloud Wireless, the leading provider of scalable small cell Enterprise Radio Access Network (E-RAN) systems, to jointly deliver integrated unified and mobile communications systems tailored for hospital environments. Druid’s software application will be integrated with hospitals’ existing PBX telephony and business systems over the scalable small cell E-RAN, leveraging the mobile ecosystem of devices to replace desk phones and paging systems.

“Healthcare is an increasingly mobile service, especially as mobile health initiatives continue to evolve and be deployed,” said Jose Claudio, healthcare IT consultant and formerly Director of Enterprise Infrastructure for one of the largest hospitals in the San Francisco Bay Area in California. “Mobile operators that can deliver signal enhancement technologies within a few weeks, as opposed to months, along with enhanced services such as Unified Communications and managed services, will be in a better position to partner with healthcare organizations.”

Druid’s application, Raemis, enables mobile devices to integrate with business fixed line services, replacing the function of traditional PBX extensions and desk phones and paging devices. When Raemis is configured as an enterprise subnet within a mobile operator’s network, it also offers resilience by continuing to provide on-site communications services regardless of the health of the macro network. Together with a robust small cell system, the solution ensures a “five-bar” experience throughout the buildings.

“This mobile communications solution truly enables BYOD in healthcare environments by removing coverage and capacity issues with a small cell system that can scale to meet the demands of hospitals of any size,” said Michael O’Dwyer, Sales and Marketing Director with Druid Software.

“The Raemis network application, together with SpiderCloud’s scalable small cell system, provides healthcare workers with an enhanced quality of service and dedicated messaging and presence applications anywhere inside with the use of mobile devices,” said Art King, director of enterprise services and applications with SpiderCloud Wireless.

Mobile operators in Europe are in the process of enabling reliable mobile services for enterprise customers of any size using SpiderCloud’s highly scalable in-building system. The E-RAN system consists of a Services Node (SCSN) that can control over 100 multi-access small cells powered by the enterprise-Ethernet Local Area Network (LAN). An E-RAN system can support thousands of employees and can be installed in just days using SpiderCloud’s Self Organizing Network (SON) software. The Services Node connects to a mobile operator’s core network via a secure gateway, enabling the operator to deliver managed mobility services to its business customers
