Systems Engineering Wireless Engineer – NEW GRAD (SN001-NG)

The Systems Engineering and Advanced Technology team in SpiderCloud is responsible for architecture, algorithms and software development of intelligent wireless (LTE/LTE-A/5G) network solutions, focusing on both systems engineering for current products and developing advanced next generation concepts and prototypes. The team is growing and we are looking for a new member. Together with a highly multi-disciplinary team of engineers, scientists, strategic partners, product managers and subject domain experts, you will work on building solutions with a significant impact to products and business. The role reports to the Director of Systems Engineering and Advanced Technology.

SpiderCloud is looking for a motivated and energetic candidate to play a key role in the architecture, algorithm and simulation for our LTE wireless products, with specific focus on MAC layer radio resource management (RRM) and SON algorithms. The ideal candidate has a wireless communication systems background, with expertise in scheduling/resource allocation algorithm design, systems simulations and modeling, as well as machine learning algorithms and data analytics.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and enhance wireless algorithms for LTE/LTE-A radio access networks and other advanced technologies.
  • Develop systems simulation framework, MAC-layer algorithms, their implementation in C/C++ code, and interpret system performance.
  • Develop machine-learning and data analytics approaches to SON and network management platforms.
  • Contribute to algorithm and architecture study and design documents.
  • Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews and provide peer feedback on a continuous basis.

Requirements:

  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering with deep understanding of wireless communications systems.
  • Graduate-level work in RRM and SON algorithms, including distributed and centralized approaches, good understanding of systems simulations, network performance analysis.
  • Strong understanding of LTE MAC and PHY. Broad understanding of the entire LTE wireless system.
  • Good knowledge of LTE-A features: NB-IoT, eMBMS, FD-MIMO, CoMP.
  • Good understanding and experience with machine learning algorithms, reinforcement learning and data analytics, and their applications to SON.
  • Familiarity with libraries such as Spark ML, Tensor Flow, Scikit-learn, Keras.
  • Experience in building predictive models for recommendations, predictions, and classifications.
  • Solid foundation in scheduling and resource allocation, optimization theory, statistical learning theory.
  • Software skills desired: Matlab, C++, Python, R.
